If you are looking for a little bit of fun and some glamor, go to the Museum of Flight to see FASHION IN FLIGHT. It is November 2nd from 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm and there is a Red Carpet Walk that promises to bring some of the top designers in Seattle to the forefront.

Older adults may be even more pleased to see a wide range of model ages and body types on the runway. The show highlights diversity in fashion. “This year we have a few models in their 40’ and one in her 60’s on the runway," said David Bailey, who is the founder of Fashion District NW. It’s primary focus is on elevating the independent fashion community in the greater Northwest.

This highly anticipated 2nd annual FASHION IN FLIGHT show will feature designers from around the Northwest, representing the region’s vibrant diversity and unique talents. This extravagant fusion of fashion and aviation promises to deliver an unforgettable experience, offering a fresh perspective on design and style, according to Bailey.

“We have so many designers looking for opportunities to showcase their skills. We are excited to be able to provide them a platform for them to do so and the Museum of Flight provides us a stunning backdrop to do so,” said Bailey. “We review each designer and select those that showcase the quality, craftsmanship, and talent to showcase at a high-level. We feel it's Fashion District NW’s job to select talented designers who our audience can trust to purchase from.”

Set against the backdrop of historic and modern aircraft at The Museum of Flight, the event provides a dynamic and visually stunning venue that complements the innovative spirit of the show. By hosting a fashion show in a non-traditional venue like an aviation museum, it combines art, culture, and design, and it creates a higher platform for local talent to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship.

This collaboration highlights the sleek lines, engineering, and aesthetics of aviation as inspiration for the designers, adding a unique layer of sophistication to the runway. It also promotes education, innovation, and a rich history of aerospace exploration. Attendees can expect an exceptional experience where the worlds of fashion and aviation intersect and are explored in a dynamic and imaginative way, celebrating innovation and diversity within the fashion industry. “We feel it’s a great time to bring the fashion community together and celebrate local fashion,” said Bailey.

Elevating the traditional runway show into a one-of-a-kind event, it will feature Armoire, Kimmi Designs, Point of View Label, Sandra Froher Spirit Essence, Soul Mates Bridal, and Tinarie Creations. Armoire is the Seattle-based, female-founded clothing rental membership that helps ambitious women love what they’re wearing.
