It’s always a good time to lift up our aging loved ones… Accepting nominations for the Positive Aging Awards through March 25

Sound Generations is now accepting nominations for aging adults who exemplify aging their way and inspire you to do the same!

This year, Sound Generations will honor six recipients in the following categories: Advocacy + Activism; Community Service; Health + Wellness; Intergenerational Impact; Lifelong Learning; Defining Inspiration.

Anyone can nominate an older adult in their life who is over 60 years old and resides in King County.

This June, the Inspire Positive Aging Awards luncheon will mark 19 years of celebrating nominees, winners, their friends and family, and the meaningful impact their lives have had in their communities.

Heather Stark, winner of the Lifelong Learning award in 2022 said, “The key is to learn from people, whether it’s our children, whether it’s our friends, neighbors, organizations, community. It’s key that we learn things from them and that we keep learning things from them; whether it’s formal education or learning how to knit at the YMCA—we have to keep learning.” Stark’s words truly exemplify this tenet of positive aging.

Take this opportunity to recognize an aging adult in your life in a unique way that allows the community to gather and connect, friendships to form, and old bonds to renew. Nominations are accepted through March 18.

Sound Generations will celebrate these outstanding individuals in the following six categories:

Advocacy + Activism – Recognizes someone committed to their community through positive change.

Community Service – Expresses your gratitude for someone who contributes time and energy to helping others.

Health + Wellness – Celebrate someone who promotes healthful living and inspires you to do the same.

Intergenerational Impact – Acknowledges the contributions of someone who works to improve the lives of people of all ages.

Lifelong Learning – Shows an appreciation for someone who inspires you to pursue dreams & broaden your horizons.

Defining Inspiration – Recognizes a single person whose attributes have touched and inspired you uniquely.

Award recipients receive prizes that include a $200 Visa gift card. Everyone who nominates one of the award recipients receives a $50 gift card.
