Pamela Belyea and Rebecca Crichton present a program on "Living with Loss" at Town Hall Seattle on June 17

On Monday, June 17 at 7:30pm, “Living with Loss – Grief is the price we pay for love” with Pamela Belyea, founder, Griever’s Library, will be presented at Town Hall Seattle. The Griever’s Library is a free bibliotherapy resource for the bereaved, offering book boxes stocked with grief books around Seattle, as well as unique online resources.

Presented with the Northwest Center for Creative Aging at Town Hall Seattle (1119 8th Avenue in Seattle – entrance off Seneca St.), this program is offered on a sliding scale ($5 – $25).

“Grief is the price we pay for love.” This talk is intended for any bereaved person seeking a deeper understanding of the unfamiliar terrain of the grief journey. Belyea explains the intersecting circles of grieving, healing, and connecting with your loved one and provides examples of fruitful projects that can grow from the “compost pile” of grief. Belyea includes salient quotes from grief books which will be available as gifts to the audience members.

Licensed architect and co-founder/director emerita of Seattle’s Gage Academy of Art, Pamela Belyea added “professional griever” to her credentials after losing 6 family members in 15 months. In response, Pamela conceived of the Grievers Library as a free bibliotherapy resource for the bereaved, offering book boxes stocked with grief books around Seattle, as well as unique online resources. Pamela is committed to keeping the Grievers Library “refreshingly non-commercial” – the project is 100% volunteer-run and supported through the gifts and talents of many compassionate businesses and volunteers.

Rebecca Crichton started her “Encore Career” as Executive Director of NWCCA in 2012 after 21 years with The Boeing Company. She refashioned her skills and knowledge as a writer, curriculum designer, and leadership development coach to offer Creative Aging programs at many Seattle area venues.
