The Washington Talking Book and Braille Library

Visit MOHAI at South Lake Union for History Café, a monthly discussion group about local history. History Café is a joint program of historylink.org and MOHAI.
 
This month’s program will take place on November 15 at 6:30pm and will cover the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library, which has been providing services to the visually impaired since 1906.
 
Join Director Danielle Miller as she discusses the past, present and future of this institution, as well as the many ways people have accessed literature beyond standard printed material. The Washington Talking Book and Braille Library is a program of the Washington State Library. While located in Seattle, the library provides services state-wide. The services are available to any Washington resident unable to read standard print material due to blindness, visual impairment, DeafBlindness, physical disability that prevents a person from holding a book or turning pages or reading disability.
