Finally, a Section for Our Featured Columns
NORTHWEST PRIME TIME NEWS ALERTS

Dear Readers,
This is a new section that will bring you weekly updates on what is new in the world of NorthwestPrimeTime.com.
The primary news this week is that we have a new section on our homepage. It provides a dedicated section for our featured columns. These are the columns that we ran every month in our print publication.
When we first made the switch from print to online-only, we were still creating an online edition, which featured all of our regular columns. But since we no longer publish an online edition, we have now created a special section – Featured Columns – in order to have a dedicated place to post our favorite columnists’ work.
Featured Columns include:
Over the course of every other month, each of these columnists will have one of their stories featured on the homepage. In case you missed one of your favorite columnists and can’t find their work on the homepage, you can also click on the Featured Columns section title (which is the red text above the section), and it will show you all the articles posted in that section.
While we won’t always have changes to report, every week I’ll note the stories that have received the most views for the previous week.
For the past week, here are the most viewed stories:
See you next week.

Featured Columns include:
- Margaret Larson’s “Who We Are Now”
- Life Perspectives (this column covers a variety of topics)
- Sy Rosen’s “Funny Side of Life”
- Diana Couture’s “The ongoing, life-affirming adventures of Rose and Dawn”
- Pat D’Amico’s light verse
- Nostalgia pieces like Scenes from Childhood and other reminiscences from back in the day
- Roger Urbaniak’s “The Great Outdoors”
- Wendy Pender's Library Corner
- Other regular features, including John Schieszer's Medical Minutes and Paige Bartlett's updates from the UW de Tornyay Center for Healthy Aging, appear in Health & Wellness
- Ariele Huff’s Writing Corner column will be featured in her SHARING STORIES section, which is located near the end of the homepage.
- Dick Van Dyke. Views of an article featuring the 97-year-old television legend spiked this past week, even though it was no longer on the homepage. It had been posted in December to honor his birthday. But views soared when Dick Van Dyke came up in the news after being featured on the television show, Masked Singer.
- WHERE IN WASHINGTON? – our monthly photo contest where you have the opportunity to win $100 – is always a favorite.
- Finger Foods for Seniors includes recipes for bite-size “meals” that are high in protein, easy to chew and swallow, and provide balanced nutrition. This article was written to help people who may have trouble handling utensils, such as those with tremors, dementia, or other conditions. Whether you have trouble with utensils or not, these recipes by Katy Wilkens would probably be a hit at any gathering.
- Accessory Dwelling Units Help Ease Housing Shortage is an article submitted by AARP Washington about a bill in Olympia that would support flexible housing options
- And finally, for the past couple of weeks, an article that was originally published last summer, seems to be making the rounds. It explores the most affordable West Coast ocean beach towns, with a focus on five in Washington State: Want to Live by the Ocean?
See you next week.
