By default, every client that we have worked with would like to stay within their area of routine – whether that be living in the same neighborhood they have always lived in or living as close as possible to their life-long friend. While in some cases that works out, it is important to note where your representative or power of attorney lives and keep their proximity in mind, and to consider which family members that you will rely on to be there for you.
By doing so, you have the peace of mind of having them close by in case any sudden emergency were to happen, or simply just having them close by to visit often. Most seniors appoint a person/family/friend they’re closest to and trust to make medical and financial decisions with their best interest in mind. So naturally, it will likely be someone who will visit often and what we have found is that this alone makes a world of a difference in their transition into senior living.
Senior living advisors are trained to think outside the box when it comes to senior living and in choosing a location that makes the most sense. We challenge location decisions to ensure you weigh your options. Geographic location can also alter rate changes and if you have a strict budget to uphold, sometimes your preferred location may not be financially wise.
Speaking with senior living advisors about what options you have and comparing locations to senior living rates can prepare you not just for today, but tomorrow and forever.
