Ignite Aging 2024: Living a Brain-Healthy Life
August 13, 2024 at 5:46 p.m.
How does heart health affect our brain? How does fiber affect digestion as we age? How can we boost our cognitive health through physical activity?
This year’s annual Ignite Aging symposium explores factors that affect our brain health. Join us from 9 am – 12 pm on Friday, September 27 at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture to learn ways to support health as we age.
The symposium, hosted annually by the UW de Tornyay Center for Healthy Aging, features brief presentations from UW School of Nursing researchers, clinicians, and students. Each short talk will end with an audience Q&A session. Unique to this year’s program will be an interactive, brain-boosting musical activity. You won’t want to miss it!
“We are thrilled to invite you to our 7th annual symposium and share with you a sampling of practical research on brain health conducted in the UW School of Nursing. The choices we make about our diet, exercise, socialization, stress, and listening to music all effect our brain health,” said Basia Belza, director of the de Tornyay for Healthy Aging. “Come learn what you can do to keep your brain healthy.”
The program is free and open to the public. Advance registration is required. Space is limited, so be sure to register early. RSVP by signing up here: https://events.uw.edu/IgniteAging2024.
