SUMMER BAY
Seagulls flying,
sailboats plying,
driftwood drying.
On a sparkling summer’s day,
take me to a white-capped bay,
cloudless azure sky overhead,
changing tides where seabirds tread,
children covered in white sand,
building castles, tall, grand.
Barbara Ruby of Puyallup grew up on Fidalgo Island, the inspiration for this poem.
