WHERE IN WASHINGTON?

Do you know where in Washington this photo was taken? If so, you may win $100!
Unless you’ve been there before, this month’s WHERE IN WASHINGTON photo contest might be a toughie. Hopefully searching the clues below will help you figure it out.
HINT I: The website of the museum where this photo was taken proclaims: “Visit one of the finest horse-drawn transportation museums in the entire country” and invites you to stroll among the elegant carriages, sleighs, buggies, wagons and more.
HINT II: The small town where this museum is located is known for rusted steel sculptures, its location tucked next to the Willapa Hills and Willapa River. Amazingly, this small town of only about three thousand has a second museum (a seaport museum) and resides next to another small town with an incredibly grand county courthouse, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
HINT III: Your answer should name the museum where the photo was taken.
The winner will be drawn at random from the correct answers sent to editor@northwestprimetime.com by December 27, 2023. If no correct answer is received, the $100 prize will transfer to the following contest.
NOTE: You must sign up for Northwest Prime Time's free monthly newsletter to participate in the contest. To sign up, simply email editor@northwestprimetime.com with "subscribe" in the subject line.
LAST MONTH'S CONTEST
Last month’s contest was popular with readers, and we had many correct answers. It’s always great receiving readers’ stories about the WHERE IN WASHINGTON locations. For last month’s Washington Pass photo, I received a note from Karen, who described herself as a “Seattle City Light brat.” Seattle City Light operates nearby Ross Dam and the Diablo Lake Tour at the dam in a glass roof boat. She also pointed out that Cisco, “our fav local gardener,” got his start caring for the landscaping in Nehalem, the Seattle City Light company town in that area. Newhalem offers a visitor center, a general store, rest stop, and easy walking trails. I interviewed the wild and wonderful, the fun and fascinating Cisco for a cover feature in Northwest Prime Time back in 2012. Here is the link to the story: Oh La La – It’s Ciscoe Morris!
