DECORATING THE CHRISTMAS TREE
My brothers and I decorated the Christmas tree when we were small. Then my mother came along and rearranged it.
When I got my own kids and tree, I let them do all the decorating.
All the balls were at the bottom, of course, and we stood back about five feet to throw the tinsel. We loved the fun of it.
I was pretty poor, so I bought two scrawny, pitiful, skinny, horrible little trees and tied them together. They cost $1.50 each. I tied them to the wall with a rope so my kids wouldn’t tip them over.
Those were the days!

SHARING STORIES is a weekly column for and about the 50 plus crowd living in the Puget Sound region. Send your stories and photos to ariele@comcast.net. We reserve the right to select among pieces. Photos are always a plus and a one-sentence bio is requested (where you live, maybe age or career, retired status, etc.).
