On June 1st and 2nd, head up to Edmonds for a celebration of birds in nature, the 20th Annual Puget Sound Bird Fest. 


"Grab your binoculars and get ready for a weekend of fun," proclaim the event organizers.


The event will include presentations from local authors, artists, scientists and naturalists, along with exhibits and bird-temed art for sale. Visitors can enjoy guided walks and bird viewing stations, a native plant sale and even a boat cruise to spot aquatic birds ands sealife.


Guided walks include Edmonds Marsh, Unioin Bay Natural Area, Yost Park, Juanita Bay Park, Southwest County Park, and the Scriber Creek Watershed Walk.


Presentations include a family story time, a talk on the ecology of hummingbirds, "Counting Seabirds in Puget Sound," birding basics for beginners, a talk on Cooper's Hawks, a talk by Don Norman on the interrelationships of plants and birds, and a discussion of a project that bands waterfowl in Washington.
