Plan your hiking adventure with Trailhead Direct

Trailhead Direct is provided by King County Metro, in partnership with King County Parks and Seattle Department of Transportation.

This project seeks to ease vehicle congestion, reduce safety hazards and expand access to hiking destinations along I-90. The Trailhead Direct service runs on designated weekends and holidays: August 2 – Sept. 1, 2025

“Access to some of the nation’s best hiking trails is one of the greatest perks of living in King County. What sets Trailhead Direct apart is that it brings you to incredible outdoor spaces without the need to drive. I’m excited for people across the region to use this service and get out to enjoy these amazing trails!” said Shannon Braddock, King County Executive.

Weekend/Holiday Service Only

Trailhead Direct is a seasonal service that operates on weekends and designated holidays. The designated holidays for operation are Memorial Day (Monday, May 26), Independence Day (Friday, July 4), and Labor Day (Monday, September 1).
