Blue Poppy Day is on Saturday, May 20 in Federal Way

The mystical Himalayan blue poppy, Meconopsis, will grace Federal Way with its ethereal beauty once again at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden.

You can celebrate these flowers on Saturday, May 20 from 10 am to 4 pm and enjoy a feast for your eyes. Walk through a meadow glowing with blooming blue poppies or stroll along the ADA accessible path through the blue poppy glade. There are two fields of poppies to enjoy and explore!

You can also shop from local artists and enjoy some delicious eats and treats from a food truck. The Botanical Garden’s nursery will be stocked with plants for sale, including blue poppies!

Musical performances include the Federal Way Youth Symphony Orchestra from 10:30-11am; Susan McLain on harp from 11am-1pm; Elizabeth C.D. Brown guitar and lute music from 1-3pm.

An art market featuring local artists includes watercolors, glass art, ceramics, photography, jewelry, apparel, hand-crafted books, home goods and accessories.

Food trucks include a pizza truck and Pakistani cuisine.
