SUMMER HEAT
I open windows for a cool breeze.
Hot stagnant air triggers a sneeze.
Feet and toes are hotter than hot,
big pan of cold water hits the spot.
Noisy nose, splashy toes, deep sigh,
conduct dog days music—spirits fly.
Found “all the fixins”—sundae treat,
soothing, tasty flavor—beat the heat.
Melt chocolate with whip cream mix,
stirring slowly, indulge a hot fudge fix.
Opened the door to chilly cold freezer,
frostier air eruption—ice cream teaser.
Summer heat twists hot and cold times.
Sundae all week, with or without chimes.
