Chambers Creek Kite Festival

Chambers Creek Kite Festival in University Park, Pierce County, runs August 3-4

Think you need to go to the ocean to enjoy a kite festival? Wrong. Pierce County offers their Annual Kite Festival this Saturday, August 3rd through Sunday, August 4th.

Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place says that their “Kite Festival is back and bigger than ever with two fun-filled days.” (Chambers Creek Regional Park)

The Festival includes kite demonstrations, family kite flying, inflatables, food trucks, vendors and other activities. Bring your kites, blankets, and cameras.

Each day, 250 kites will be given away, compliments of the Pierce County Kite Flyers Association.

Need a kite? You can build one yourself at the park if you purchase a kit online. On the day of the event, pick up your kits at the Parks booth in the Central Meadow. Kite kits are $5 per kit.

Parking is $10 per vehicle. Because of the popularity of the event, it is recommended that you purchase your parking tickets in advance to guarantee a space.

Chambers Creek Regional Park is located at 6320 Grandview Drive West in University Place. Check the website for the schedule, for parking tickets, to order a kite kit and other information: https://www.piercecountywa.gov/1317/Chambers-Creek-Regional-Park
