If there was time travel how would the world change?

What would change?

Would I know you?

I could meet my grandparents, see the beginning of time, meet Mother Teresa, and look in at the last supper.

Find out the winning lottery numbers, eat that dessert I thought would put a pound or two on me,to find out If it doesn’t matter. Life is short. And, it’s now all those Halloween treats time!

Meet the women of the Suffragette and thank them for their bravery and sacrifice.

However, if just one person made a change, the world would look different, and change would be inevitable.

Most of all, would I know you?

Mary Boley has sent Northwest Primetime several stories and poems. This short piece was in answer to Ariele’s Creative Writing Lab assignment: “If there was time travel how would the world change?” Contact Ariele Huff for information on this ZOOM class that has in-class writing and sharing exercises.

SHARING STORIES is a weekly column for about the 50-plus crowd living in the Puget Sound region. Send your stories and photos to ariele@comcast.net. Tell local or personal stories; discuss concerns around aging and other issues; share solutions, good luck, and reasons to celebrate; poems are fine too. Pieces may be edited or excerpted. We reserve the right to select among pieces. Photos are always a plus and a one-sentence bio is requested (where you live, maybe age or career, retired status, etc.).

SHARING STORIES is featured on http://www.northwestprimetime.com, the website for Northwest Prime Time, a monthly publication for baby boomers, seniors, retirees, and those contemplating retirement. The newspaper can be found in the greater Seattle area and other Puget Sound locations. For more information, call 206-824-8600 or visit http://www.northwestprimetime.com. To find other SHARING STORIES articles on this website type “sharing stories” in the search function above.
