Festival Sundiata Black Arts Fest is a free family event held at Seattle Center taking place this weekend. The annual event started back in 1980.

Guest artists from across the country will convene at Festival Sundiata. Take in a weekend of arts, music, entertainment and more showcasing local entertainment, dance troupes, art exhibition, photography, food merchants, historical exhibits, drum circles, youth drill and dance teams, a marketplace of vendors and more. Also featured are the Tuskegee Airmen, Buffalo Soldiers and the American History Traveling Museum.

The events take throughout the Center, including the Armory, Fisher Pavilion and Mural Amphitheatre.

The festival celebrates the arts and educates the community about people of African descent who form a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities.

“My passion is to share Black arts with the community, said Board Member, Carl Copeland.
