The weather report, wintry warning:
snow to come down in early morning.
Days of driving would not be “at ease,”
temperatures dropping to icy freeze.
Trip to the grocery, essential supplies.
Walking the aisles, a stunned surprise.
Visions of happiness dazzled my eyes…
fudge, whipping cream, and berry pies.
Preparing frosty hunker down mission—
curious. “What is a necessary provision?”
Hot and cold food are ready at the deli,
but fudge and berry pie warm my belly.
