Art Exhibit at Providence Marianwood features local artists

Marianwood is pleased to announce a new exhibit through June 2012 in our Art Gallery featuring the works of local artists Jan Tervonen and Molly Hueffed. The show is titled Color Chaos with Primordial Fragments.

About Providence Marianwood

Providence Marianwood provides high-quality nursing, rehabilitative and end of life care, honoring all individuals with respect, dignity and compassion. A division of Providence Health & Services, Marianwood is the only non-profit skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in the Issaquah/Sammamish area. For more information, go to http://www.providencemarianwood.org.

Molly Hueffed is a professional artist and art educator living in Issaquah. She works out of her home studio creating Encaustic paintings and functional ceramics. Her work continually evolves using new tools, expanding mediums and combining concepts.

Jan Tervonen is a self-taught artist with a minimalistic abstract style exhibiting a wry sense of humor representative of her Finnish-American roots. Jan was the recipient of the Vascovitz Family Scholarship for Drawing and Painting at the Pratt Fine Arts Center where she studied.

“The residents of Marianwood are grateful to have this wonderful art hanging in our hallways” says Colleen Hardy, Director of Clinical Services at Marianwood. “Many of our residents can no longer go to museums and galleries so it adds immeasurably to their enjoyment of life to have the opportunity right here to experience new, exciting and inspiring works of art.”

All of the art works are available for sale with twenty-five percent of the proceeds donated to support the residents and programs of Providence Marianwood. The gallery located at Providence Marianwood, 3725 Providence Point Dr SE on the Sammamish Plateau is open to the public 7 days a week from 9 am – 7 pm. Admission is free.
