Three Free June State Park Days

While Washington State Parks are always free to visit, you usually need to purchase a Discover Pass to park. But, on State Parks Free Days, you can picnic and play at any of the 140 Washington State Parks for free.
The month of June boasts THREE of the twelve free days of the year: June 10, June 11, June 19.In addition to free parking at any state park on these days, there are also some special events scheduled for June 10 and June 11.NOTE: These events were gathered from the Washington State Park Events Calendar. Contact the state park in advance if you need to verify details of any event.In particular, Cama Beach Historical State Park has a bunch of stuff going on June 10 and 11:

  • The Three C’s of Crabbing, June 10, 2023, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ Cama Beach State Park. Meet in front of the Cama Beach Historic Store at 10am and you will learn how all about summer crabbing season, including responsible techniques, species identification, information about licensing and seasons, and delicious cooking methods. Weather dependent. More Details
  • Solar astronomy program, June 10, 2023, 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM @ Cama Beach State Park. Join park staff for an informal program to learn about our planet’s closest star. Topics include sunspots, planets, and so much more. Located near the Cama Beach Historic Store. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Weather dependent. More Details
  • Guided hike, June 10, 2023, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM @ Cama Beach State Park.
    Get out on the trails with park staff to learn about the human and natural history of the park. Topics include park history, wildlife, and so much more! Meet at the Cama Beach Drop-Off Shelter All children must be accompanied by an adult. Weather dependent. More Details
  • Toy boat workshop, June 10, 2023, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ The Center for Wooden Boats boathouse at Cama Beach State Park. Have the grandkids with you? Stop by The Center for Wooden Boats boathouse to learn how to build a wooden toy boat. The best part? You get to bring it home as a souvenir! $5 suggested donation.More Details
  • Big bubbles, June 11, 2023, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Cama Beach State Park.Join Park staff for an informal program to learn about the common plants, animals and birds that make Camano Island State Park their home. Topics vary every week and can include beavers, marine mammals, orcas, and so much more. Located near the Cama Beach Historic Store. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Weather dependent.   • Table talk, June 11, 2023, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ Camano Island State ParkJoin Park staff for an informal program to learn about the common plants, animals and birds that make Camano Island State Park their home. Nearby Camano Island State Park also offers a June 10th event: Join Park Staff to learn about the Bald Eagles that make the park their home. A bit further afield: Deception Pass State Park invites you to the 15th annual Salish Sea Day on June 11, 2023, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Deception Pass State Park. Hosted by the Swinomish and Samish Canoe Families, the celebration takes place at the Bowman Bay picnic area on the Fidalgo Island side of Deception Pass State Park. Take a ride in a dugout canoe, share a traditional meal and engage with singing, storytelling, and weaving. More Details
