The King County Library System presents the third online PIONEERS IN AGING speaker series.
There is still time to catch the last two events in the series, Diane Gillespie’s “There’s Nothing Like a Good Night’s Sleep” on Monday May 8 from noon to 1pm; and Dr. Jim de Maine’s Our Lives, Our Choices.
The May 8 discussion by Diane Gillespie showcases sleeping challenges and describe inexpensive, non-pharmacological sleeping strategies. Her book, Stories for Getting Back to Sleep, contains 17 stories to help you to sleep. Five of her stories are widely used on sleepiest.com. She also provides a resource sheet for other cognitive behavior strategies for increasing natural sleep.
Dr deMaine’s discussion on May 15, Our Lives, Our Choices, will explore the role of spirituality, conflicts between doctor’s and families, cultural traditions and more. He invites participants to a conversation with advice pointing the way to a grace-filled transition out of life. His memoir is
Facing Death: Finding Dignity, Hope and Healing at the End.
To register, click on the title of each session or register for them separately at 1.kcls.org/pioneers. The Zoom link will arrive the day before the event. Sessions will not be recorded, but notes will be shared with all registrants.
