Petpalooza and Blue Poppy Days both take place on Saturday, May 21

This article sees posts on two competing South Sound events: Petpalooza and Blue Poppy Days.

Petpalooza

On Saturday, May 21 from 10am to 5pm at Game Farm Park, Auburn brings back the popular free annual event: Petpalooza. Petpalooza kicks off with a 3K/5K Dog Trot Fun Run, and offers an animal-related Entertainment Stage throughout the day. It also features flydog and dog agility demos, the Northwest Pet Contest, and a variety of vendor booths with products your pet is sure to love. The day is rounded-out with a petting zoo, pet adoptions, give-aways and activities throughout the day to keep humans and pets entertained. Leashed, licensed and well-behaved pets are welcome. Blue Poppy Day

Blue Poppy Day competes with Petpalooza, because it is also scheduled on Saturday, May 21 from 10amm to 4pm and is located in nearby Federal Way. The free event takes place at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden (see location map). This time of year offers visitors the chance to see the world-renowned Himalayan Blue Poppy Meadow. Visitors can also enjoy plant sales, food trucks, an art market and a full day of musical and dance performances.
