“Hand”

The hand you hold

firmly but dearly

has been years long cold.

The soft palm and slender fingers

carry a man’s heart

anywhere you go.

Yes, we take a walk

on our way to getting old.

Sometimes the sun shines still

before leaving the hill.

Funny none of us needs to talk

when we stroll in the fading light

hand in hand.
