A chance to help Jessie Owen!

Northwest writer Suzanne Beyer is offering a portion of the sales of her book, The Inventor's Fortune Up for Grabs, to help a young woman paralyzed in a horrific accident
| December 1, 2013

It’s holiday time once again. For many of us, the season brings joy, celebrating with family and friends. For my friends, the Owen family, it’s a December those family members who survived, will never forget.

December 21, 2012, the Owens travelled over Stevens Pass for play time in the snow before Christmas. On a crisp, cold day, a snow-laden tree crashed onto their SUV killing parents Cheryl and Tim and critically injuring their adult children… Jessie, Jaime and her husband, Steven! Their son, Jeremy, escaped with minor bruises.

Jaime and Steven, after a year in and out of surgeries for their multiple broken bones, are now on crutches, but snugly residing in their new home.

Jessie, paralyzed in the horrific accident, has made great strides to walk again. She has many cheerleaders, from her 6th grade students at Bothell’s Frank Love Elementary, to her many friends she’s gained over her 28 years.

Jessie is working hard at Pushing Boundaries to regain movement in her legs and has teamed with the non profit HelpHOPELive.org, an organization to boost funds to help spinal-cord injured patients.

Suzanne Beyer, Northwest Prime Time Associate Editor, spear-headed a book-sale fundraiser last summer to help Jessie with her massive medical expenses. She’s now selling her book, “The Inventor’s Fortune Up For Grabs” by Suzanne G. Beyer and John S. Pfarr for $16.00, with $5.00 of each sale going to HelpHOPELive.org for Jessie Owen’s account. Suzanne will personally inscribe the book.

To order Suzanne’s book, please email DLBeyer@comcast.net or send her a note at:
