Want to get the most out of life?
Thinking about making a move can be challenging. Where are you in the process of aging?
If a retirement community is in your future, consider your needs and the levels of care available. Every resident enters with a differing need for care. Some communities, like Overlake Terrace, offer a range of opportunities, and the level of care you require can be adjusted based on your needs and interests. Are you looking for Independent, Assisted-Living, or Memory Care? We encourage the celebration of independence but Assisted-Living can provide attentive care when you need it.
If the time comes that memory care is necessary, we can accommodate your needs seamlessly.
The progressive loss of memory is a difficult and challenging setback for anyone. But there is still so much to experience every day: the smells, music, laughter, and most of all – a safe environment. Memory care is at its best when it encourages active daily experiences to energize the mind and lift the spirit.
The movie The Notebook is a romantic tale of a couple that falls in love during turbulent times. Their love survives even when memory begins to fade. One of the couples at Overlake Terrace offers a similar love story for the ages. He, an accomplished, retired CPA, continues to pursue his hopes and dreams in life. She, lovely still, is living with a diagnosis of dementia. He remains completely in love with his wife, and even as her memory fails, she knows that she, too, loves him.
The couple found their right fit in one of Overlake Terrace’s spacious two bedroom, two bathroom apartments. As his wife’s memory problems progressed, he did his best to care for her by himself, until he found himself becoming so ill he landed first in the hospital and then in nursing care.
But Overlake Terrace was able to step in and help. We moved his wife into Memory Care while he regained his strength and later she was able to move back into their apartment with him. They spend their days together and can cuddle every night.
The most wonderful family stories unfold each month at Overlake Terrace, including couples who are experiencing their relationship in different phases of health. We would love to share our stories with you
We invite you to come see how Overlake Terrace can provide a positive and dignified lifestyle for you and your loved ones.
