Welcome historic Tall Ships — the Lady Washington and the Hawaiian Chieftain — on Lake Washington this Labor Day weekend. Sailings are approximately two hours with both ships departing from the Carillon Point guest dock at the Woodmark Hotel for “mock battles” and Lake Washington tours.

The 2 p.m. sailings are family friendly and the 5 p.m. sailings are cocktail cruises for adults age 21 and over. Boxed meals will be included for all sailings and beer and wine will be available for purchase during the cocktail cruises.

About The Woodmark Hotel, Yacht Club & Spa:

The Woodmark Hotel, Yacht Club & Spa is the only hotel on the picturesque shores of Lake Washington. Personal and comfortable, the Woodmark features 100 rooms, including 21 suites, most with views of the lake, and all with luxury amenities. The Woodmark is the ideal in-town retreat only minutes from downtown Bellevue and other Eastside destinations. It offers a full-service spa, two exceptional restaurants, distinctive event spaces and an intimate, residential, waterside ambiance. Most importantly, Woodmark people are warm and genuine, anticipating guests’ every need. Popular for corporate events, weddings and important family occasions, the Woodmark is ultimately a place where everyone feels at home, and home is a relaxing and rejuvenating place set apart by the water. http://www.thewoodmark.com

In addition, The Lady Washington will be available for tours on Thursday, August 30 from noon to 6 p.m. while it is moored at Marina Park (25 Lake Shore Plaza, Kirkland). The ship accommodates 60-100 visitors an hour and complimentary tours last approximately 30 minutes. There also will be two free sails – the first is an educational sail from 9 a.m. to noon where children can learn about life at sea and basic navigation skills. A second sail from 6 to 8 p.m. allows visitors to participate in the operation of an 18th century tall ship, from raising the sails to taking the helm.
