What your eyes, hands, and hair are telling you about your health

Body language extends far beyond the concept of speaking to others via physical movements, expressions, and body posture. A deeper, more important form of body language is that which speaks to self. It is a language that addresses matters of personal health, including issues pertaining to physical, mental, and emotional stability. Learning to identify the subtle changes in eyes, hair, and hands may be one of the best physical and mental health resources a human being can acquire.

Let the eyes speak

The eyes contain critical glimpses into matters pertaining to our nutritional health and wellness concerns. Pay attention to the obvious such as cataracts and glaucoma, but also notice the words your eyes may whisper, concerning the likes of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other systemic illnesses. Here are some examples:

· High Cholesterol — causes bumpy yellowish patches on the eyelid.

· Hepatitis — causes the whites of the eyes to turn yellowish in color.

· Skin Cancer — can come on as a small brown bump on the eyelid.

· Thyroid Problems — cause the eyes to protrude and seem to bulge.

What words speak from the hands?

The size and shape of the hands has been attributed to all measures of strange whisperings about men and women. This article limits itself to matters that pertain to nutrition and situations that may require the aid of the local mental health resources. Here are a few practical words from your hands:

· Thick, Rounded Fingertips — indicate possible heart or lung disease.

· Swollen Fingers — can indicate hypothyroidism.

· Ripped and Torn Nails — often reflect a nervous nail biting habit.

The voice of your hair

The condition of your hair can be a major tip-off to the current status of your personal health. Here are some examples:

· Cushing’s syndrome, an adrenal gland disorder, and hypoparathyroidism, related to the parathyroid glands, can cause brittle hair that tends to break easily.

· Seborrheic dermatitis results in yellowish flakes on the hair that is accompanied by itchy patches on the scalp.

Healthy eating helps reduce personal body language

Personal body language speaks through changes in our physical condition — changes that are not always easy to recognize. It reflects what we choose to eat and how that choice affects our nutrition health and wellness issues. It also reflects our current state of mind and emotional outlooks on life. Treat yourself right and your body will have fewer reasons to complain.
