Seattle, WA – Seattle Rep will offer 25 $1 tickets to each performance of its production of David Lindsay-Abaire’s dark comedy Good People, running through March 31 in the Bagley Wright Theatre. “Dollar Store Deal” tickets are available day-of-show only after 12 p.m. through the Seattle Rep Box Office at 206-443-2222 or in person.

Called “important, timely, and hilarious” by StageMagazine.org, Good People is the story of single mom Margie, a tough middle-aged “Southie” from the wrong part of Boston who loses her job at the Dollar Store and is on the verge of homelessness. Her girlfriends cook up a comical plot of desperation: for Margie to reach out to an old high school flame, now a successful doctor, and hope for the best. The play deftly explores how class, luck, and opportunity can change the trajectory of one’s life.

In a recent Seattle Times article, playwright David Lindsay-Abaire mentioned how ironic it was that someone like his heroine “could never afford” theatre tickets to see his work.

In an effort to make theatre tickets affordable for everyone, the Rep will sell 25 $1 tickets per performance of Good People.
