Power-Lifter at Age 62

Lynnwood resident Robert (Buck) Adams, age 62, succeeded in becoming the 2012 State of Washington Powerlifting Champion in the 60-65 Division for his weight class.

The State Finals were held in Seattle on February 25 and 26, with men and women competitors in all weight classes from ages 14 to 74.

Buck is proud to represent the over-60 competitors lifting in the overall category of Squat, Dead lift and Bench press.

He trains with an enthusiastic group of younger competitors, known as Team Phonix, at a local gym in Mukilteo, WA. Coach Kevoin Stewart volunteers his time and expertise, as a national champion, moving team members ahead in State and National competitions.

With an active interest in sports and staying in shape as a seasoned boomer,

Buck became interested in learning about Powerlifting about a year ago. Coach Stewart and team members persuaded him to start competing in the masters division.

He will be traveling to Denver May 5 and 6 to compete in the over 60 division at the Masters Nationals.
