Bellevue Botanical Garden 20th Anniversary Celebration

June 9, 2012 at 12:01 a.m.

Bellevue Botanical Garden invites you to “Please come and help us celebrate 20 years of growing at the Bellevue Botanical Garden on Saturday, June 23, 2012.”

Festivities begin with an opening ceremony at the Shorts Visitor Center at 2:00 p.m. Activities continue throughout the afternoon with a traditional Japanese tea ceremony demonstration, flower arranging demonstrations, and poetry readings. Children’s activities will be hosted by our docents in the historic Sharp Cabin. Stroll the gardens and take a “walk on the wild side” at the new Ravine Experience suspension bridge. See complete list of activities and times at Event Schedule.

Don’t miss the debut of “Remnants” by David Kelly-Hedrick – a temporary art and poetry project created specifically for and in the Bellevue Botanical Garden, funded by 4Culture. A poetry booklet will be free to garden visitors while supplies last. Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Bellevue Botanical Garden Society. Representatives from the City and the Bellevue Botanical Garden Society, Northwest Perennial Alliance, and other garden partners will be on hand to answer your questions.

The Garden opened to the public in June, 1992, and has thrived through the efforts of a unique partnership between the City of Bellevue Parks & Community Services and the Bellevue Botanical Garden Society.
