Too much stress can have a seriously negative impact on your health. But you probably already knew that, and you're probably getting ready to shake a fist at your computer screen and say something like "Thanks for reminding me and causing me even more stress!" But before you do that, keep reading. We've come up with a list of easy anxiety and stress management tips to help bring some peace to your day.

One of the most effective stress management strategies involves proper time management. If you're able to successfully manage your time, you'll find you have far less to worry about. Try the following:

Map out your day. Literally. Each night before bed, write down a list of everything you have to get done the following day. This will prevent you from lying awake in bed making mental lists and losing much needed sleep.

Set priorities on everything. The aforementioned agenda will help by giving you a visual representation of what you have to accomplish, which in turn will make it easier to assign priorities to each.

Pencil in time for yourself. There's nothing that screams "STRESS!" more than a day spent doing everything for everyone but you. Be good to yourself by scheduling time to do things you enjoy doing.

Coffee breaks aren't just for people with 9-5 jobs. Even if you're a fulltime retiree, it doesn't mean you don't have a lot on your plate. Break up your day with time-outs where you can sit and stare off into space for 15 minutes at a time.
