Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez win big at Teen Choice
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Country sensation Taylor Swift and actress/singer Selena Gomez caught major waves at the Teen Choice awards on Sunday, with Swift scooping up six surfboard trophies including one for Ultimate Teen Choice. Swift, who soared to popularity in 2006 at age 16 with her self-titled debut album, was named the favorite female artist, country singer and red carpet fashion icon. She also scored with best country single for her song "Mean" and choice breakup song "Back to December."
Outkast rapper Big Boi arrested for drugs
MIAMI (Reuters) - Miami police arrested Outkast rapper and "Hey Ya" singer Big Boi on Sunday for possessing ecstasy and other drugs that the performer's lawyer later characterized as "contraband." Media reports cited the Miami-Dade County Corrections Department's website as listing the rapper, whose real name is Antwan Patton, as having been arrested for having ecstasy, MDMA powder and Viagra, for which he had no prescription.
Anthony Quinn's son, Francesco Quinn, dies at 48
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Francesco Quinn, a son of the late actor Anthony Quinn, has died of an apparent heart attack while jogging near his home in Malibu, California, according to media reports on Sunday. Quinn, 48, was jogging Friday night with his son Max in the La Costa neighborhood of Malibu, the posh seaside community north and west of Los Angeles, when he fell and lost consciousness. People on the scene were unable to revive him.
Ethan Hawke welcomes his fourth child
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Ethan Hawke and his wife, Ryan Shawhughes, have welcomed their second child together, a baby girl named Indiana, People magazine reported over the weekend. Born two weeks ago, she's the fourth child for actor/writer Hawke, who also has two children with ex-wife Uma Thurman.
"Charlie's Angels" find solid ground in TV remake

"Charlie's Angels" are storming back to U.S. television in September in a high-stakes remake of the classic 1970s series that producers say will bring the crime-fighting trio back down to earth.
"Apes" take box office with $77 milllion globally
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Chimps reigned over humans, Smurfs and aliens at movie theaters over the weekend as "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" climbed to the top of box office charts with global ticket sales of $77.4 million. The big-budget, effects-filled prequel to the 1968 classic film about genetically enhanced apes that launch a revolution took the top spot at U.S. and Canadian theaters with a strong $54 million in ticket sales, distributor 20th Century Fox said on Sunday.
New Yorker charged with stalking French actress Cotillard
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard, cast in the next Batman movie, has a role in a real life Gotham crime after a stalker sent threatening messages to her fan site. Teresa "Terri" Yuan, who lives in Queens, was arrested by the FBI on Thursday last week, said Robert Nardoza, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in Brooklyn, which also covers Queens.
